Raising Money for Buttle UK – ‘The Italian Job 2018’

Brian, along with brother Scott and friends Ian & Dominic, have all recently returned from their charity event ‘The Italian Job’ which entailed driving to Turin in Italy to help raise money for Buttle UK, The Childrens Charity (Registered Charity No, 313007 / Scotland – SCO37997).This October we squeezed into two classic minis (one 1998 and one 1971) and drove from The Midlands, via Dover, through France, Germany, Switzerland and into Italy where we began The Italian Job 2018 in Imola with 50-100 other minis.

In a re-run of famous the 1969 film, we spent the next week travelling in our troop of minis doing various tests, to various iconic destinations, including the Lamborghini Museum and the Dino Ferrari racing circuit before finishing off in Turin with a trip around the Lingotto rooftop track (as featured in the original movie). The minis and the trip are self-funded. They have raised money for Buttle UK, who help children in need throughout the UK. £10 will provide a swimming lesson for a child who needs an escape from witnessing domestic abuse.

Just £25 is enough to provide bedding whilst £150 will give a new bed to a child who previously didn’t have one. As part of the trip we also took gifts to donate to a children’s home in Turin. We would like to thank everyone once again for donating towards this wonderful cause.
